When Christmas is Lonely

Christmas can be a lonely time.

When you’re alone at this time of year it can be draining. Trying to keep on top of everything and social can make me feel like isolating myself. There is complete overwhelm with the shoulds and need-to-dos and playing elf.

It’s also difficult when you have these self-imposed deadlines for things. Projects that should have been completed. People that should be in your life but are no longer there.

I am exhausted, and suffering migraines, and so ready for a new year filled with new promises. I have a list of messages to reply to (sorry everyone) but I’m busy concentrating on getting my plans together for 2019. It’s going to be a big year and I’ve decided that things are going to move forward in so many areas of my life this year. What little energy I do have is going into thinking about the next 12 months. It’s my way of escaping this uncomfortable feeling of loneliness that I can normally brush off.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and the start to a wonderful 2019.
